How MVI protects your website
Keeping platforms and scripts up-to-date
MVI always keeps all software up-to-date. We carry out upgrade operation every month to make sure that all software, operating system files, CMS, frameworks have latest version and security patches installed.
Toughen up access control and network security
MVI restricts access to the server and website very strongly. We do not allow any SSH access from unknown IP addresses. We also allow FTP transaction via secured channel.
Web application firewall.
We use multi-layer web application firewall. Beside of WAF installed in our system, we always use CloudFlare and Sucuri to protect e-commerce and high traffic websites from a malware attack, XSS attack, credit card theft and DDoS attack.
Limited file uploads.
File uploads are a major concern. No matter how thoroughly the system checks them out, bugs can still get through and allow a hacker unlimited access to your site’s data. We take every precaution necessary to prevent this from happening. We prevent direct access to any uploaded files.
Use SSL
Most of the site hosted on MVI servers are SSL enabled. We always strongly recommend our customers to use SSL certificate for their website. Beside of securing the website, SSL certificate can play a major role to increase site’s SEO ranking as Google now emphasizing making the site secured.
Back-up frequently
We make backups of all website and database regularly. We also have a backup archiving system that keeps daily, a weekly and monthly archive of the website and databases. We can go back to website and database up to one month old. Beside of onsite backup, we also keep a copy of the backup offsite. So that if anything happens to our data center, our customer’s data will still be retrievable.
How MVI protects your emails

We use a specific set of policies that prevents hackers from breaking into your email box using brute force attack. If someone tries to access your mailbox by guessing passwords randomly, our system will block IP address of the attacker automatically after certain try. MVI email system policy also prevents sending out and receiving mass spams.
Secure Webmail / POP / IMAP / SMTP access
MVI email system usage SSL to secure all kind of email transactions. Whether you access it via webmail or POP/IMAP. MVI provides secured channel between your device/computer and MVI server to protect your email transaction.
MVI Data Center Migration
At MVI Hosting we believe that superior service is what the industry demands. Whether it’s moving your equipment into a more secure, stable facility or simply determining how to scale your IT infrastructure to your businesses needs, MVI Solutions has a very large hosting facility.
Existing data center IT infrastructure was legacy & most of the Hardware & Software was nearing end-of-support. Moreover, the IT infrastructure was inefficient, space taxing, and does not integrate well with modern applications and technologies. Some of the other reasons to migration were:
- Redesign and /or Rebuild applications on modern hardware and software technologies.
- Adopt virtualization & consolidation technologies, Enterprise Shared Services Model
- Mitigate any data integrity challenges while migrating to modern infrastructure
- Ensure optimal costs are incurred on Hardware, Software & Labor by making smart decisions on:
- Hardware & Software reusability
- Appropriate program phases to minimize bubble period
- Utilization of appropriate tools & technologies
- Processes & best practices
- Deploying right resources
So we have decided to re-shuffle our whole hosting infrastructure and upgrade all servers. We purchased some latest high capacity Dell servers, switch and routers and housed them in a new datacenter that has the state-of-art equipment and is enterprise grade.
A data center migration is a highly strategic project that must be executed without impacting business operations, Service Level Agreements, performance/availability and data protection requirements. Given the dynamic operational environment in which today’s data centers operate, wherein applications and data in the production environment is changing consistently and is being replicated to a remote DR facility on a regular basis, it becomes even more important to look at all the facets of the IT environment and carefully carve the Data Center migration strategy. Every environment has its own challenges and one migration strategy does not fit every environment. It takes several months of planning, re-designing the system and application architecture and migration plan. We took several months for the planning phase. We have decided to go for Virtualized environment for some of the legacy application that requires the older version of PHP, hence older version of OS and for the applications that run on latest technologies, we stick with the dedicated servers. We did physical-to-virtual conversion of all servers while the servers are on-line. After the conversion we shipped the disk, which has virtualization images of all servers. We restored all images in the new hosting facility. After configuring all servers and application for the new datacenter with new network settings, we synced old servers with new servers one by one to make sure that there are no data losses. We had to make sure that there are zero impacts on our client’s services. We re-routed traffic once the syncing was finished. It was not done in one night. It took several nights to successfully migrate all services to new place.
Some of our clients wanted to host their servers in Amazon and Google cloud. We have done the successful migration for them as well. We are maintaining and supporting those servers.

How important is your email? MVI email services are designed to be highly redundant. Your e-mail will be handled by a completely separate, yet fully integrated system that is on separate storage and hardware cluster. Our email system employs much of the same redundant technology our Redundant Hosting systems do. The frontend machines are interchangeable so if one physical machine were to fail it would simply and seamlessly start using the next server in line. We designed this system to compliment the redundant hosting offered to website owners.
MVI’s email hosting customers enjoy a fully redundant email hosting solution. Our customers are hosted on a mail cluster meaning a copy of the data is written in real-time to two physical servers. This redundant hosted email system operates with backup and multiple servers and 3 system email backup storage.
Customers of MVI redundant email hosting solution are provided a full suite of features including: Webmail, email client access, mobile sync with 1000 different mobile handsets and calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes. For most companies businesses email is a vital communication tool that cannot be unavailable regardless of the situation. Backing up data is important as is redundancy or duplicate hardware in place online and ready for service.
Spam Filtering
Step 1. Perimeter Protectionspam-filtering
Spam Annihilator 2.0 intercepts messages before they reach the client’s infrastructure to prevent high impact attacks such as Denial of Service (DOS) and Directory Harvesting programs from stealing email processing resources.
Step 2. Redundant Server Set
Spam Annihilator 2.0 uses an array of redundant servers to ensure that at least one server will always be available to deliver mail. Each server set is equipped with MVI Solutions’s proprietary Spam detection system that utilizes more than 60 types of filtering techniques. All servers also contain multiple anti-virus engines and proprietary detection systems that rid incoming email of worms, viruses, phishing attempts and other protocol-based vulnerabilities.
Step 3. Virus Scanning
In today’s world, viruses are the favorite tool used by spammers to enable the mass delivery of spam. MVI Solutions uses three anti-virus engines which are updated every 10 minutes to ensure the signature databases are current. MVI Solutions’s own wavefront detection system is used to identify and block unknown viruses providing an extra layer of virus protection. Emails that fail any of the anti-virus tests are routed to the Virus Quarantine for review by the system administrators.
Step 4. SpamTrap
The MVI Solutions Spam Filtering system uses the results from a blend of leading spam identification techniques to determine whether a message is legit or belongs in the Spam Quarantine. Some of these tests include internal and external RBL checks, routing analysis, signature and heuristic content inspection and reputation review. Drawing on our worldwide spam traps the system is updated between 500 and 2500 times per day providing consistent spam capture rates of up to 99%.
